If I knew then what I know now, I would've NEVER taken Jayden's round the clock newborn sleeping for granted!!!
The insomniac reference isn't to me, I can't wait until Jayen falls asleep at night to finally get to bed, this is all about him! All day Jayden stays awake occasionally taking 5 minute cat naps, but usually fighting his sleep majorly to keep his big brown eyes open and looking all over and laughing and smiling! Sure that sounds great, he's happy, right... correction:
Sleepy Jayden = CRANKY Jayden
Is this normal I asked myself, but better yet, I asked the pediatrician and luckily, or maybe not so much, i was told that yeah that's his regular pattern, that he's just very observant of his surroundings aand doesn't want to miss one moment!
But the worst thing about cranky, sleepy Jayden is that this turns into sad, crying Jayden. And there's nothing tht breaks my heart as much as his sleepy, sa tears, because they are accompanied by sniffles and low noises and him holding tightly to my fingers or my shirt, so not only do you see how much he wants some rest, but you hear it and feel it too.
This always reminds me of a spanish lullaby my mom sang to me, which I sing to him:
"Arrurru mi nino, arrurru mi amor. Duermate pedaso de mi corazon. El nino chiquito se quiere dormir, pero el picaro sueno no quire venir"
